“My experience at mill view stables The care and attention provided to my horse has been nothing short of remarkable. As a new horse owner when moving onto the yard 7 years ago, Naomi at mill view stables has gone above and beyond to guide me through the training. Their expertise and patience have transformed my journey with my horse, turning challenges into opportunities for growth. From spacious stables to well-maintained arenas, every aspect of Mill View Stables reflects their commitment to excellence. I couldn’t be happier with the level of professionalism and genuine care my horse receives here. With out Naomi’s knowledge, help and support we most certainly would not be where we are today doing all the fun things from beach rides to giving eventing a go. Been at Mill View has opened my eyes to a whole new world of tack, horses way of going and how much ill fitting tack affects your the horse also the pain it causes. Highly recommend to anyone in search of a remarkable equestrian facility and knowledgeable.”

“I’ve been with Naomi at Mill View Stables for a year now, having previously been there for another year with a previous horse before selling him. Naomi is always on hand for any questions we have , she provides us always such high quality advice and information. We bought a 4yrs and she’s helped me and my daughter so much through the tough stages we have had. Naomi always sets up fun activities on the yard to keep my daughter and pony engaged. Making learning fun and enjoyable. We love the yard, its always calm and they are a friendly bunch. We love giving our pony nice warm showers to keep her clean. Naomi often clips her, to keep her cool and looking smart.”

“I have had my pony Lara at mill view stables for about 18 months now. We came with a lot of issues, catching, behavioural problems, loading and I’d had a couple of nasty falls so had totally lost my confidence. I was so close to giving up horses altogether and then I got in touch with Naomi. I Can’t begin to explain how much she has helped me and Lara, from helping with tack, her behaviour, schooling. Lara is like a different pony now and it’s all thanks to Naomi. I have never met anyone with as much experience with horses as Naomi she is just amazing. Moving to Mill View Stables is the best thing I ever did for me and Lara.”

“I’ve known Naomi for about 5 years and during that time she has helped me and my pony Super Ted in so many ways. I had lost a lot of my riding confidence due to a few issues hacking out, but this did not deter Naomi in suggesting that we could create and compete in a Christmas musical drill ride. We worked on this together and then got organised with the practice part, starting with the four of us human team members running through the ride many times on a cold winter evening in a large barn. We needed many practice sessions, which Naomi hosted at her yard and, being the great encourager that she is, we continued through everything even though one horse was a young thoroughbred who had barely been ridden alongside other horses before. It was always fun and kept me going through a winter when I was wondering if my confidence would ever return to what it was. Our drill ride was fabulous and we won the class, but it would never have happened without Naomi.
When I found out my pony had a twisted pelvis, Naomi recommended a chiropractor to treat Super Ted and I had every confidence in him being able to put Ted’s pelvis back into place, which he did. Then on another occasion when we were both invited to an art exhibition, I was telling Naomi about my own problems with stiffness and the lack of hip flexibility and Naomi very kindly said, “ You know you always get Ted treated when he isn’t quite right. Have you ever had treatment for your own problems?” Of course I hadn’t and Naomi recommended a particularly excellent Physiotherapist, who has helped me tremendously.
Six months ago, Naomi totally re-flocked Ted’s saddle and when I dropped it off, she was telling me about girths that allowed the horse to breathe. I had never heard of such a thing, so when the saddle was ready, Naomi asked if I would like her to come over and fit the saddle and also said she would bring some of the girths she’d told me about for us to try. The girths made a huge difference, so I found one on Ebay, and with quite a lot of advice from Naomi managed to buy it. She told me that, with the work Ted and I were doing, it was very likely we would need a wider saddle within six months.
Ted and I have gone from strength to strength in the last six months and, just as Naomi said, we are now looking for a wider saddle. We have also started to compete in Working Equitation competitions, which is quite an achievement, when I look back to how I felt when we started practicing for the musical ride 4 years ago.
So recently, Naomi has been enlisted to help Ted and I to rekindle our jumping skills, something we have barely done at all for 35 years, but certainly not done for about 8 years. I have to say, I was quite anxious, but Naomi told me exactly what to do and gave me the confidence to trust Ted and at the end of our first session we jumped a whole course of fences. Indeed our jumping skills in our first Working Equitation competition were highly praised by the other competitors. Clearly they need Naomi’s teaching in all things, as she has also identified further ways of improving our left bend and helped us with our Classical Dressage training.
Naomi is also still helping us to find an appropriate wider saddle, trying to give us more options and encouraging me to try things that sometimes initially feel very alien.
I cannot recommend Naomi enough, she is on course to improve the comfort of every equine she meets in whatever way she can, whether it be saddle fitting, Classical Dressage, jumping, advice on bits and their fitting, physio for humans, chiropractor for horses and much, much more.”

“Before I found Naomi, I was at the end of the road with my 17.2hh dressage horse. He just wouldn’t load into anything, lorry or trailer. He would back out putting both himself and me at risk of injury. Nothing seemed to work! Naomi persevered with him, using multiple techniques until finally he would load, stand and exit like a proper grown up boy! Just brilliant.”

“Mill view stables is a fantastic livery yard who provides the best home for my daughters pony. Mill view stables makes everyone feel welcome and the atmosphere is a happy one. The horses live a natural life, this leads to having happy horses and this is shown in their performance. They provide help and support whenever it’s needed and they always go above and beyond. Naomi’s knowledge of horses and tack is amazing. The summer pony club activities are so much fun and are enjoyed by everyone. Regular loose jumping is also enjoyed by our pony. My daughter loves the lessons that Naomi provides. Naomi has helped us many times with the fitting of our ponies saddle, she is very sensitive and feels a slight change, Naomi is always on hand to help, adjust, re flock or do what ever is needed to get my daughter back in the saddle. I can’t recommend this livery yard enough!”

“I first met Naomi three years ago when I purchased a pony for my daughter. As is usual for small ‘slightly over conditioned’ ponies we were having issues with her saddle slipping forward. As an adult who has been around horses from the age of 9, I had picked up bits and pieces about how a saddle should look and feel however, I did feel it was area which I could improve my knowledge. I was recommended to speak to Naomi from a mutual friend.
Naomi is a warm and friendly person and agreed to come to my home to meet the pony and see if we could get the current saddle to fit any better. Naomi spent a while meeting and measuring our pony and explaining the rationale behind what she was doing. I can truly say I had my eyes opened at a whole new level to the way a horse moves and how an ill-fitting saddle can affect this. I was so impressed that I asked her to fit my own horse to, even though it had not been that long since she had been fitted with this saddle.
Honestly, I was truly horrified at the narrowness of the saddle I was using, and I expected my horse to be happy to be ridden in. Unfortunately, this meant I now needed two new saddles! Naomi was able to recommend particular brands of saddles to look out for that would suit the shape of my horse and also the level of riding which my daughter and I was doing but also covered a range of budgets. She then came back and re checked the saddle fit making recommendations for girths and saddle pads to compliment the fit of the new saddle.
I am extremely pleased to say that although the horse did not display any ‘bad habits’ prior to Naomi’s visit they both appear to much happier under saddle. Since our initial meeting I have been back to Naomi’s for advice ranging from saddle fitting, changing bits, feeds and also animal behaviour. I have taken our pony to her yard and feel she and her tack comes back with a full MOT!
I have, and will continue to recommend ‘the mill view way’ to my horsey friends.”
