As the saddle is the most important piece of kit a rider can own. It is imperative that it’s kept in top working condition, to avoid pain and discomfort to your horse. The underneath of your saddles should be checked every 6 months, for lumps, dips and symmetry. Uncomfortable and ill fitting staddles are the main cause of behavioural problems when ridden. Keeping your saddle in good condition can make wearing a saddle an enjoyable experience for you horse.

Mill View Stables offers full reflocking or adjustment services. A full reflock is where all of the old flocking its taken out and replaced with new wool flocking. We use white medium length wool to flock. This is a strong wool with some bounce that settles with a good density to support the weight of the rider. We recommend a full reflock when the panels of the saddle are hard and/or lumpy and have a lot of asymmetry or have had repeated adjustments. An adjustment flocking is suitable for saddles that have soft panels with a few dips and a small amount of asymmetry.

Please note foam or air saddle panels can not be adjusted.
